Miles M. McMahon

Senior Pastor
miles@ccsonora.com | (209) 694-5806

Pastor Miles McMahon is the founder and senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Sonora. He and his wife Joyce along with their oldest daughter moved to Sonora in 1992. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona and received his Master of Science from Cal Poly in International Agricultural Development. He has pastored previously founding Calvary Chapel of North Fork in 1982 and at the Filmore Christian Gardens for 6 years in Fresno. While serving as director of Survival Ministries in Kenya, East Africa he founded a small pastors training school and returns often to visit many of those same men. He also served as a missionary in Latin America for two years. He has traveled to over forty countries, and preached in over thirty countries; thus our church is a very missions minded congregation led by a missionary pastor. Pastor Miles believes that Ephesians 4:11-12 is the key passage for his ministry here in Sonora, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”. As a result, he spends the bulk of his time in teaching the Bible and training leaders in how to study and teach the Bible.

Thomas Salado-Poor

High School Youth Pastor
thomas@ccsonora.com

Thomas Salado-Poor was born and raised in Tuolumne County, attending church at Chapel in the Pines, Christian Heights and Calvary Chapel, but primarily Calvary Chapel Sonora. He always wanted to be a positive influence to those around him and even a true blessing, so he sought after “hero” roles, such as the military, firefighting, etc. All of those paths came to dead ends in one way or another. After marrying his wife, Kaitlyn, and starting a family, while managing his parents’ grocery store, Thomas began attending Pastor Miles’ Inductive Bible Study. After two years of weekly study, Pastor Miles asked him to teach on a Sunday morning. A few months later, he invited Thomas to become the High School Youth Pastor. Thomas assisted the youth pastor for the remaining four months of 2019, and on January 1, 2020, he took over the youth ministry at Calvary Chapel Sonora and has been learning and growing in the knowledge of His grace and ministry of His body every day since. Thomas is thankful for God’s favor in placing him in such a wonderful community and under the care of faithful believers for parents. The Lord has blessed Thomas and Kaitlyn with four healthy, vibrant children, as well as a group of teenagers who are a constant source of blessing and adventure.

Jason Cameron

Jason Cameron and his family relocated to Sonora in July 2021, with a heart to serve and guide the youth into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Jason is a graduate of the School of Ministry from Calvary Chapel Downey. Currently, he is enrolled at Grand Canyon University as he pursues a bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies, with an Emphasis on Biblical Studies. For the past seven years, he has served the youth in many different capacities, ranging from children’s ministry to young adults, and everything in between. His life verse is Matthew 6:33, which states, “But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”. The simple teaching of Jesus is the model that guides Jason’s life, and his heart is to see the youth follow suit.

Steve White

Worship Leader
pneuma217@yahoo.com

Steve is a product of Christian parents who dedicated him to the Lord when he was born. He grew up in the friendly little town of North Long Beach, enjoying the open environment of childhood in the 50’s and 60’s. He was always with the Lord in home and church. Rebellion in his teens led him to cry out for help in high school turmoil and Jesus saved from himself. His path in school brought him to healthcare, serving patients with breathing maladies and disabilities in Respiratory Care.

Steve served at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle on the church board and in music/worship until moving to Calvary Chapel Cypress. There serving in Candle Factory, a children’s ministry and also serving with the Worship team for 11 years. Moving to Sonora in 1990 transitioned into serving at Calvary Chapel Sonora from it’s inception in 1992.

What a Blessed Life it has been!! Serving with the Worship team to encourage and demonstrate worship has been a call to serve Steve’s entire life. There is always reason to point to Jesus as He is King of kings, and will not share His glory with any other, from heaven or from earth…

He is King. He is Lord. We were created to worship Him.

Steve is available Monday and Tuesday afternoons for pastoral care and spiritual guidance.
